Misogyny & Inequality

This is the thematic core of SexLab Survival. In this alternate Skyrim, women are second-class citizens. Guards, townsfolk and men treat a woman — especially one without the right Licences, or one caught undressed — with open contempt. Misogyny is the connective tissue that gives the rest of the mod's systems teeth: it decides who harasses you, who refuses to serve you, and who forces an event on you.

What misogyny drives

When misogyny is enabled, being a woman in the wrong place with the wrong paperwork (or no clothes) triggers a chain of consequences:

  • Guard harassment. Guards notice an unlicensed or naked woman and act on it — verbal contempt, demands, and enforcement of the licence system rather than simply ignoring you.
  • Refusal of service. Merchants, innkeepers and other NPCs can decline to deal with a woman who isn't presenting acceptably or lacks the licences that grant her standing.
  • Escalation. Contempt doesn't always stay verbal — misogyny is what turns a bad reaction into harsher consequences. The harder-edged outcomes are optional and configured in the MCM.

How it ties into licences

Misogyny and the Licences system are two halves of the same pressure. A licence is, in this world, a woman's permission to exist a certain way in public. The combination that gets you into the most trouble is no dress licence plus being naked or near-naked — that reads to guards and men as a woman with no standing and no cover, and the world responds accordingly. Buying the relevant licence is often the difference between being left alone and being singled out.

What NPCs notice

Misogyny reactions key off what's visible about you, not just your inventory. NPCs register exposure (how undressed you are) and arousal, and a woman who reads as exposed or aroused draws far more attention than one who is dressed and composed. Managing what the world can see about you is part of surviving it.

Who it applies to

You choose who participates. The targeting option lets you scope reactions to:

  • Guards Only — only city and hold guards react.
  • Guards & Men — guards plus male NPCs generally.
  • Only Men — any man, guard or not.
  • Only Women — flip it entirely, so women are the ones enforcing.

Pick the scope that matches the playthrough you want — a tightly policed one where only guards care, or a world where every man on the street is a threat.

Note

All of this lives on the Misogyny & Inequality MCM page. Targeting, the individual reaction systems, and the whole feature can be tuned or switched off there if it isn't the game you're after.
